The question

Situation

A grade six class can take one field trip. The choices are a science centre visit or an outdoor nature camp.

Task

Respond to the survey in about 150-200 words. In your response, choose ONE of the following options: Option A: The class should visit a science centre. Option B: The class should attend an outdoor nature camp. Explain the reasons for your choice.

Sample answer

Linking words are highlighted: they show the structure a rater follows.

In my opinion, the grade six class should definitely visit a science centre for their school field trip.

The main reason is that this option would be useful and educational in everyday life. It responds to a practical learning need and would help students understand science concepts that connect to their daily routines. A good decision should benefit the widest possible group, not only a few people with a special preference for sports or camping.

Another reason is that a science centre visit seems much easier to justify with the available school budget. It would create a clear educational improvement that students could notice and apply regularly in their studies. I understand that an outdoor nature camp also has some advantages, and certain students may prefer it. However, it feels less directly tied to the curriculum and may not solve the most common learning goals.

For these reasons, I believe the science centre is the better choice for our class. It is practical, fair, and likely to create stronger overall satisfaction among all the students. It would also be much easier for the teachers to review after a short trial period.
