This page explains, in plain English, what PrepScroll stores about you and why.
Without an account
Your progress, saved cards, Mistake Vault, streak and settings are stored in your browser on your own device. We don’t receive them. Clearing your browser data deletes them.
With an account
If you create a cloud account, we store your name, email address, chosen exam, test date and practice progress so you can use PrepScroll on more than one device. If you take part in the weekly league, your first name, last initial and weekly points are visible to other learners.
Speaking and writing answers
- When you record a speaking answer, your browser’s speech recognition turns it into text. In Chrome and Edge this is processed by the browser maker’s speech service.
- To score an answer, the recording or text may be sent to our scoring service, which can use Microsoft Azure Speech and Google Gemini. They process it only to return a score.
- Recordings are kept on your device for playback during your session. We don’t keep them on our servers after scoring.
Comments
Comments you post on cards are visible to other learners.
Your choices
- Clear your browser data to delete everything stored on your device.
- Email support@prepscroll.com for a copy of your account data or to delete your account.
