The question

Task

Describe a time when you had a minor injury. Talk about what exactly happened, how you felt at the moment, and what you did to recover from it.

Sample answer

I vividly recall an incident a few years ago when I sustained a minor but rather startling injury in the kitchen. I was preparing a stir-fry, confidently chopping vegetables, when my knife, unfortunately, slipped off a stubborn carrot. In that split second, I felt a sharp sting and immediately knew I had cut myself. Looking down, I saw a rather unpleasant gash on my index finger, which began to bleed quite profusely. A wave of mild panic, mixed with frustration at my own carelessness, washed over me. I quickly ran it under cold water, applied firm pressure with a clean cloth, and then meticulously cleaned and bandaged it. Thankfully, it wasn't serious, and after a few days of careful handling, it healed completely, leaving behind only a faint scar as a reminder to always be mindful when using sharp objects.
