Sample answer

Linking words are highlighted: they show the structure a rater follows.

One of the most significant fears I have ever had to overcome was my debilitating fear of heights. For most of my life, even standing on a second-floor balcony would cause overwhelming anxiety. However, when my company organized a team-building retreat that included a zip-lining activity, I was determined not to let my phobia hold me back. I spent the entire week leading up to the event watching instructional videos and practicing deep-breathing techniques. When I finally stepped onto the platform, my heart was pounding, but I forced myself to take the leap. The exhilaration I felt during those thirty seconds of soaring through the air was absolutely transformative. It completely reshaped my understanding of my own capabilities.
