Sample answer

Linking words are highlighted: they show the structure a rater follows.

Dear Garden Coordinator,

I am writing to express my strong interest in obtaining one of the small garden plots offered to residents by our city, as I would love to apply for a plot this spring. Having a designated space to grow my own organic vegetables and flowers is very important to me because it promotes a healthier lifestyle and helps me connect more deeply with the local community.

Regarding my background, I have plenty of practical gardening experience from tending to my family backyard for over five years, where I successfully grew tomatoes, leafy greens, and various herbs. I am quite familiar with composting, watering schedules, and basic plant maintenance.

Could you please let me know if there are any plots still available for the upcoming season, and what the associated annual fees are? Additionally, I would appreciate it if you could share a copy of the community garden rules and guidelines so I can ensure I comply with all policies.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Sincerely,

Jordan Lee
