Task

Look at the picture of the Neighbour Noise Complaint. Based on what you see, what do you think will happen next? Make predictions and explain your reasoning.

Sample answer

Observing the palpable tension in the image, I anticipate a direct confrontation between the irate neighbour and the party hosts. It's highly probable that the door will soon be answered, at which point the complaining resident will articulate their grievances regarding the excessive noise. One can foresee a few immediate reactions: perhaps the partygoers will initially be surprised or even apologetic, agreeing to mitigate the volume. Conversely, they might react with annoyance or outright defiance, leading to a more heated exchange. Should the latter occur, I imagine the situation escalating, potentially compelling the distressed neighbour to involve external authorities, such as building security or even law enforcement, to enforce quiet hours. Ultimately, I predict a temporary cessation of the loud music, though the underlying neighbourly relations might be strained for some time.
