Task

Look at the picture of the Community Movie Fundraiser. Based on what you see, what do you think will happen next? Make predictions and explain your reasoning.

Sample answer

Linking words are highlighted: they show the structure a rater follows.

Given the vibrant activity in the picture, I anticipate several things will unfold in the immediate future. Firstly, as people are currently purchasing tickets and refreshments, I fully expect the film to commence within minutes. The attendees will likely find their designated seats, the lights will dim, and the projector, which is already set up, will cast the movie onto the screen. Furthermore, I predict that during the event, the donation box will steadily fill up as community members contribute to the cause. After the screening, there will likely be a period of informal mingling and conversation as people discuss the film and perhaps the success of the fundraiser before they eventually depart. The volunteers will then begin the process of cleaning up and packing away the equipment.
